 Year Date Event
1959July 6General Meeting held to form a Scout Group at Mt Stuart.
 July 13Mr D. G. Edwards becomes the first Chairman of the group committee.
 July 31First Cub Meeting held at the home of the Lady Cub Master, Mrs E. Cutcliffe.
 August 17Committee moves that "Scarves be Red & White".
 August 28Cubs meet at the Mt Stuart Hall for the first time.
 September 21Work on a "Cub Cupboard" begins under the Mt Stuart Hall.
1960July 18First Annual General Meeting of the Mount Stuart Scout Group Committee.
1961June 8First Scout Meeting under the guidance of Mr Thorne, an Open Night with Cubs being invested into Scouts.
 NovemberA Scout Flag is purchased for £6/9/4 (about $140 today).
1962FebruaryMr T. Lockhart accepts the position of the Mt Stuart's first Group Scout Master (Group Leader).
1963AugustOne of our Scouts becomes the groups first Senior Scout (attached to the Scout Troop).
1964October 2A Combined Cub/Scout Birthday Party is held (5 Years).
1965February 6The 'Youth Annex' was opened at the Mt Stuart Hall. 'Scouts, Cubs, Guides and Brownies were guards of honour'.
 MarchSenior Scouts start officially and a 'Senior Court of Honour' is held.
 JuneMrs Cutcliffe resigns, after leading the Cub Pack for its first six years.
1966FebruaryGroup Committee approves payment of $250 for the construction of a Scout Storage Room.
1967 Andrew Wadsley becomes Mt Stuart's first Queens Scout.

1967AprilThe Scout Storage Room (Den) is completed.

MaySenior Scout Troop formed again, although without a leader.
1968May 31First Rover Crew Meeting is held, known as the Stuart Rovers.
 AugustThe Stuart Rovers produce a News Sheet for the group, named Kardinia. Initially bi-monthly, later monthly.
 OctoberScouts attend our first Clark Trophy at Poatina, a camping competition.
1969 A new tartan design for scarves is considered.
 JuneSenior Scouts attend the Meredith Trophy, and are placed 4th overall.
 DecemberD. Potter is presented with the "B.P." award (Rovers)

1971AprilA District Rover crew forms, and it is presumed that the Stuart Rovers transferred to this crew.
1972 Mt Stuart Group reaches its current record size, with 74 uniformed members.
 JuneLast reference made to Kardinia.
1973 Senior Scouts become known as Venturers.
1974 AprilRobert Edwards, one of the first Mt Stuart Cubs, resigns after 15 years connection with the group, including 5 years as Scout Master.
1975MayMt Stuart Venturers leave to join the 'Wilson' Venturer Unit, a new District Unit.
1976October 1A Scout/Guide social is held at the Mt Stuart Hall with approximately 250 young people attending.
1978FebruaryWellington District is restructured and Mt Stuart becomes part of the new Hobart District.
1983FebruaryA Group Newsletter is introduced, later to be known as 'Signals'.

The Group celebrates its Silver Jubilee (25 Years)
1985April 14Venturer Unit started under the guidance of Mr M. Grant.
 SeptemberVenturer Unit folds due to a lack of leaders.
 OctoberQueen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Grant of $2,500 is received to assist with costs of a new equipment store.
1987MarchVenturer Unit re-starts under G. Maddock.
 AprilWork to convert a space under the hall into a Quartermasters store is completed.
 June The first girls join the group as Venturers.
1988SeptemberCubs split into two packs, on Wednesdays and Thursdays, the result of a large waiting list.
 October 22Mt Stuart places 3rd at the Clark Trophy, our best ever result, with 565 points of a possible 780.
1990JulyThe first girl joins Scouts.
 October 24Wednesday Cub Pack folds, only the Thursday Cub Pack continuing.
1991 OctoberVenturer Unit folds again.
1992June 20 - July 16Mt Stuart host visiting boys who were victims of the Chernobyl Disaster.
1993 The first girls join Cubs.
1999DecemberTeddy Bears sail to Antarctica as a fundraising venture.
2004
Mt Stuart becomes part of the new Wellington District when Hobart and Glenorchy Districts merge.
2005AugustMt Stuart's first Pinewood Derby car races are held
2006FebruaryJoeys start under the instruction of J. Pyefinch.
2009August 30Mt Stuart celebrates our 50th Birthday with an afternoon of activities at the Hall.
