Cracker Night - A Huge Success!!

Last night's Cracker Night went off with a BANG!  We were blessed with a break in the weather, with the wind easing and the clouds clearing to leave a partly starry sky.

The bonfire was crackling, two smaller fires roasted potatoes and toasted marshmallows, the BBQ was cranking (slowly - sorry for the slight delays with the snags!), the hot chocolate was steaming and then there were the fireworks which put on a spectacular display.

We would really like to thank everyone that came along - in the end we estimated that we had over 150 people turn up and support our Scouts going to the Jamboree.  While we are still checking the final tally, it looks like we have raised around $1000 from the evening - awesome work!

A special thank you goes to the Mt Nelson Volunteer Fire Brigade, that provided not one but two fire trucks and a bunch of volunteer fire fighters to make sure our event was safe.  Thanks again.

Given the success of the night, we are considering running a similar event next year.  We'll just have to make sure we have more food supplies and a faster BBQ to keep everyone fed and warm.
