Last Sunday a small group of cubs, scouts and parents joined the New Town Rivulet Catchment Care Group and cleaned up a section of New Town Rivulet from the restaurant down to Gerard St. We worked from 9:30 to 12:00 and in that time filled about 20 large bags with rubbish and recyclables. We cleaned up a bunch of household rubbish dumped by someone under the Gerard St bridge and spread the pile of wood chips to help repatriate the soil in the area. Well done to all that attended, I'm sure the native animals around the creek are very grateful.
