Last weekend 4 scouts; Charlie, Josh, Faith and Zac, went on an Adventure level walk on Maria Island. Followed by Charlie's dad, Jonathan and me, we caught the ferry on Thursday at 1pm and then hiked 14 km down to French's Farm where we stayed the night. Charlie's dad is a Mt Stuart Queen Scout and ex leader and was still using one of the tents they had when he was leading. The next day the scouts hiked down to look at the cells, and then had a cruisie afternoon followed by coming to visit the adults and have a camp fire. Jonathan hiked to the bottom end of Maria Island ands back and we all stayed at Encampment Cove for the second night. On tye third day we hiked back up along the coast to Darlington for lunch and to catch the ferry. We saw HEAPS of wombats, and kangaroos and even caught a glimpse of a Tassie Devil.

Well done Charlie on organising a great weekend hike as part of your scouting.
