On Sunday 18th August 8 scouts, 1 cub, 2 leaders and 4 parents volunteered a couple of hours of their time to the New Town Rivulet Catchment Care Group Inc to spread mulch along the Rivulet at Creek Road. This mulch will help remediate the soil by putting nutrients back in and stopping the growth of weeds to allow native plantings later on. The NTRCCG cares for the New Town Rivulet Catchment from "Lost World" on Mt Wellington to the Derwent River, 9.5 km. The response from all the kids was they had a great time and would do it again. The response from the adults was I had a great time and would do it again but I had forgotten about some of these muscles.

Thanks to:

Michael Swanton - co ordinator for NTRCCG

Scouts: Maddie, Tom, Josh, Dan, Ollie W, Cody, Lucas and Tas

Cub: Millie

Parents: Carol, Jim, Teena, Kirrily

Leaders: Jonathan, Ian
